Tourist in your own city

Since 2013, the hotel festival Hotel Night has been organised in Amsterdam under the name Mastercard Hotelnacht. Luxury hotels open their doors for one night to residents and host a weekend full of culinary, creative, and cultural events. From Suite Party to cocktail workshop, from yoga masterclass to club party.
The goal is to encourage more locals to visit hotels and to strengthen the relationship between residents and tourists.

Luxury hotels

Hotel Night was originally created at the request of the Municipality of Amsterdam and has grown into a major event in which the city’s most important hotels participate. It gets thousands of Amsterdammers moving as they enjoy fun hotel parties and sleep in a luxury hotel just around the corner.

Next stop: Amsterdam

At the moment, an investigation is underway to explore organising the successful event in other cities in collaboration with local partners. Hotel Night is the ultimate city marketing tool for cities where the relationship between residents and hotels or tourists is tense. The next edition in Amsterdam is scheduled for January 17 & 18, 2026.
